How do the automatic invitations and reminders work?

What emails are sent to the people on my invitation list?

Once you’ve started your Montage you’ll be able to see (on the People page of your Creator’s Dashboard) a list of all the automated emails associated with your Montage, and when they are scheduled to send.

When you create a Montage for someone, we will automatically send all of your invitees an invitation email, and an introduction to Montage email with a few pro tips for creating their first video entry. (This really helps with first-timers.) Then, as the deadline approaches, Montage sends (2) automatic reminder emails.

It’s no fun having to nag your friends and family… That’s why we do it for you.

At the very end of your Montage, after the recipient submits a Reaction Video, we’ll send one last Thank You email to everyone on your invitation list, which includes a link to the Reaction Video page.

When do the automatic reminder emails go out?

The first reminder goes out 72-hours before the deadline, and then a “last chance” reminder goes out 24-hours prior to the deadline.

These automatic reminder emails are a great way to remind the procrastinators, but that said, a personal text message from you will always be 10x more effective. Remember that the majority of all Montage entries are submitted within 48 hours of the deadline.

Can I customize the invitation email?

Yes! You can include a custom message that will appear in the invitation email and on the invitation page of the Montage. Here’s how:

If you’ve already started the Montage, then…

  • From your Creator’s Dashboard, go to the Settings page, then under Privacy, select the Small Group option, and it will prompt you to add a custom message. Just write your message here, and feel free to leave the page (you don’t have to click “Save” or anything). The custom message will be included in all invitation emails from that point on, and it will also be shown on the Invitation page.

If you haven’t started the Montage yet, then…

  • When you are filling out the Create a Montage form, there is a part about Privacy Options. When it asks “Who will see the final Montage?” select “Small Group,” and then write in your message.

Your custom message will be displayed like this:

Can I customize the reminder emails?

Sadly, no. We hope to build this feature one day…but for the time being, the automatic reminder emails can not be customized or canceled.

Can I send my own reminders to people through Montage?

Yes! From the People page of your Dashboard, you can quickly send “nudges” to individual invitees via email, text message, or Facebook Messenger.

You can use our pre-filled templates, or you can even customize your own! For more information on using your People page, click here.

Can I send an email blast to the whole invitation list?

Due to spam concerns, Montage creators cannot send out custom group emails through Montage. However, we can provide you with a list of all emails that have been invited to your Montage at any time, in case you’d like to send a group email from your personal email account. Feel free to reach out to us at any time for that list, and we’ll send it to you within one business day.
