How do photos work in the final Montage?

Who can add photos to a Montage?

**Only the creator of the Montage (i.e. the person organizing) has the ability to add photos. ** Videos, on the other hand, can be added by anyone who’s invited to the Montage.

If the Creator of the Montage wants to give someone else the ability to add photos, they’ll need to add that person as a Co-Creator of the Montage. For more info on adding Co-Creators, click here.

What are the photos for?

Photos provide a space to the Montage recipient to “pause” between videos and reflect on the moments captured in the images. If there are no photos, then videos are played immediately after one another, which can be a bit overwhelming for the viewer.

How are the photos ordered in the final Montage?

As long as you add enough photos (i.e. as many photos as you have videos) then our automatic video editor will place one photo in between each video, and add any extra photos to the end of the Montage. The ordering will be determined by when the photos were uploaded (i.e. the first photo you upload will play after the first video, and so on).

You can also customize the ordering of photos yourself. From the Videos page, switch on “Show Photos” (button near the top) and then drag-and-drop photos to change when they appear in the Montage.

How do I add photos?

You can add photos by pressing the “Add Photos” button on the Photos page of the Creator’s Dashboard. You can also add photos from the Videos page, you just need to switch on the “Show Photos” button, and then tap/click on the “+” at the bottom of the list of videos. You can select photos from your local computer, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, etc.

How many photos should I add?

You can upload as many photos as you’d like, but we recommend adding enough photos to match the number of videos in the Montage. You can see how many photos you’ve added so far on your Creator’s Dashboard.

How will photos be displayed in the Montage?

We apply a beautiful Ken Burns effect to every photo in the Montage. Each photo is displayed individually for 5 seconds.
